Experience that Counts
Minnesota
is proud of its tradition of being one of the premier
sportsmen's states in the nation. Our firm has had extensive
experience in issues involving wildlife, licenses, habitat,
and sportsmen's access to important hunting and fishing
sites.
Fines, Confiscations
and Restitution Costs
The
Legislature has broadened DNR's authority to impose
greater fines, to confiscate boats and gear, and to
impose wildlife restitution costs on sportsmen who are
alleged to have violated the law. Hunting and fishing
today involve greater financial risks to the sportsmen
than ever before.
License Revocation
The
law has also been broadened to forfeit the hunter or
fisherman's right to hunt or fish for two to three years
after certain violations.A DNR ticket can cause a lot
more pain and inconvenience for a sportsman than it
did a few years ago.
Wildlife Industries
Trappers,
guides, taxidermists and others who depend on game and
fish activity have seen increased regulations and DNR
enforcement activity. Sportsmen and sports business
persons need to be aware of the new rules, and if they
are accused of a violation, they should seek legal advice.
